Jean Zott has more than 35 years of experience as a CPA, Controller, and successful small business owner. She brings the financial discipline, accountability, and practical leadership Michigan needs to rein in spending and budget responsibly on behalf of its residents.

Reckless spending must stop. Every project should be clearly defined in terms of cost and who in the community it will benefit. Work to ensure every spending bill has a legislatures names attached and every budget presented is posted online for 72 hours prior to a vote. The people DESERVE to know where their money is being spent. Legislatures deserve the time to fully review new laws.

Jean’s mission is to bring her financial expertise to Michigan’s legislature. She is focused on tax reform, disciplined budgeting, and eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse in state government.

With more than 40 years of experience as a CPA, corporate controller for Michigan’s largest retail produce company, and small business owner, Jean understands how to balance budgets and control spending. She has spent decades working in complex tax law and regulatory compliance and is committed to reforming Michigan’s tax structure to make it fair, transparent, and competitive.

Jean will also fight for reliable, affordable clean energy policies that lower costs for families and make Michigan more competitive in attracting and growing businesses.

Michigan currently has no CPAs serving in the House or Senate. Jean is ready to fill that gap and bring strong financial oversight to Lansing.
